Peuteropvang De Schakel

Peuteropvang De Schakel is located at Bangkokdreef 4 in Utrecht and is part of Kind&Co Ludens. We provide toddler care with pre-school education (VVE) for children aged 2 to 4 in a homely atmosphere. Thanks to our close cooperation with primary school De Schakel, childcare and education are housed under one roof; this allows toddlers to regularly play with kindergarteners and experience a smooth transition to primary school. Our pedagogical staff work thematically according to the Startblokken programme. Every day we offer meaningful activities such as language and numeracy games, reading aloud, drawing, singing and movement. We set up the rooms with inviting play corners so children can choose what they want to explore. The fixed daily rhythm gives toddlers peace and predictability. We pay extra attention to vocabulary education. Children at risk of language delay can attend our pre-school education for 16 hours a week. This way they start primary school even better prepared. Our groups are small (maximum 16 children), leaving plenty of room for personal attention and tailored guidance. Outside we have a safe garden with play equipment and natural materials. We love to let children experience the outside world and stimulate their curiosity. Parents are very welcome to come and see how we work.
