Peutergroep de Peppel

Peutergroep De Peppel is a small-scale toddler group in the heart of Beuningen, located at Augustuslaan 22. We are part of the De Peppel child centre, in which the toddler group, out-of-school care and De Peppel primary school form one close-knit team. Because we are literally in the same building as the primary school, the step from our toddler group to Year 1 is extra small: your child stays in a familiar environment and sees the same faces year after year. We provide care on Tuesday and Friday mornings for up to 16 children aged 2.5 to 4 years. Our professional pedagogical staff work according to Thomas Gordon’s communication method and shape creative processes following the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This means we spark children’s curiosity, guide and stimulate them by giving them space for their own discoveries. There is plenty of challenging play material for every developmental age. During the mornings the emphasis is on learning through play. We work on language development and creative skills, using stories, singing, drawing and crafts. We believe it is important that every child feels safe and secure and that parents stay involved in the development of their son or daughter. That is why our doors are always open for a chat and we regularly share photos and stories about the children’s experiences. Our garden offers plenty of opportunities to play and explore outside. We go outside almost every day, because being outside is healthy and invites movement and discovery. Each child has a fixed spot with his or her own sleeping bag, so that rest times on the toddler group remain real rest times. We work with small groups, which means lots of individual attention and we can respond well to the needs of each child.
