Peutergroep De Paddestoel

Peutergroep De Paddestoel is a small-scale toddler care centre run by KION, located at Pater Eijmardweg 21 in Nijmegen. On weekday mornings we offer a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 2 to 4. Every Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 11.30 a.m. we welcome toddlers into one fixed horizontal group where peers play, explore and grow together. Our programme is designed to prepare children for primary school through play. We use themes that connect with the world of toddlers: seasons, animals, traffic and emotions, for example. During the morning the children have plenty of room to paint, craft, sing and build. We read picture books aloud and use early-years education activities that stimulate language and social development. KION’s qualified pedagogical staff guide the children with great care and warmth so that every child feels safe and seen. At Peutergroep De Paddestoel we value calm, cleanliness and regularity. The day always starts with a shared moment: we sing a welcome song and briefly discuss what we will do that morning. This is followed by free play time where children can choose whether to play in the home corner, with blocks or at the craft table. At about 10 a.m. we have a drink and fruit together. We end the morning with a circle activity or a short visit to the outdoor playground. Parents can enrol their child for a minimum of two half-days per week.
