Peutergroep de Klinkert is a small-scale toddler group located right in the heart of child centre De Klinkert at Burgemeester van den Drieslaan 20, Oudenbosch. We are part of De Dwergjes and welcome up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our doors are open five mornings a week: Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 12:30. Parents can opt for two or four sessions per week. Everything we do revolves around learning through play in a safe and familiar setting. We work in a horizontal group, allowing children to explore, play and grow alongside peers of the same age. Language, movement and creativity are central to our programme. We sing songs, craft with various materials and read picture books. All activities are aligned with the approach used in the kindergarten groups of primary school De Klinkert, ensuring a smooth transition later on. Each morning the children receive a healthy piece of fruit and a drink. We believe it is important that children can ease into the day at their own pace. Therefore, every morning begins with free play, followed by a small-group activity at the table. We use themes that connect with toddlers’ world of experience—seasons, animals, traffic or emotions, for example. Parents regularly receive photos and short reports so they can share in the experience at home. Our qualified pedagogical staff specialise in the development of young children. They observe, encourage and provide comfort whenever needed. We work closely with the school’s internal supervisor, allowing us to identify early signals and offer extra support when necessary. Peutergroep de Klinkert is more than childcare: it is a place where children feel safe, make friends and gradually discover who they are.
