Peutergroep de KAS is located in a separate classroom within the annex of public primary school De KAS at van der Palmstraat 93 in Gouda. We provide care for children aged 2 to 4 years on every weekday morning and, when there is sufficient demand, also in the afternoons. Each session can accommodate up to 15 children. Our toddler group is operated by Kindercentrum de Schaapskooi. Together with the school we form an Integral Child Centre (IKC), ensuring a smooth and familiar transition from toddler care to the infant classes. Our aim is to prepare children for primary education through play. We therefore use an officially recognised pre-school education programme that aligns with the Pyramid approach. Themes, songs, story time, drawing and outdoor play alternate throughout the week, stimulating each child’s language and social-emotional development. The room is furnished in a homely style and opens directly onto a secure outdoor play area. The pedagogical staff of De Schaapskooi create a warm, safe atmosphere in which every child is given space to explore and grow at their own pace. We work with horizontal groups: children of the same age are together, allowing activities and guidance to be tailored precisely to their developmental stage. Children can be enrolled for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 sessions per week. Morning sessions run from 08:30 to 11:45 (until 12:15 on Wednesdays) and afternoon sessions, when available, from 13:15 to 15:15. In this way Peutergroep de KAS offers a small-scale, secure and development-oriented place for your toddler, just a few steps away from the playground where the infant classes will soon begin.
