Peutergroep De Bijenkorf

Peutergroep De Bijenkorf is located within primary school De Bijenkorf at Aalberseplein 6 in Gouda. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 years during school weeks. Play-based learning is central: we let children explore and experience as much as possible. Their development is closely monitored and stimulated. We use the Uk & Puk method, an educational programme that focuses on language development, social-emotional development, sensory and motor development, and early numeracy skills. Children learn to cooperate and play together, take part in circle activities, and there is plenty of attention to fine and gross motor skills. All activities fit within the current theme, which is aligned as much as possible with the kindergarten classes of the primary school. We regularly organise fun outings or activities, such as library visits or a clown performance, often together with the kindergarteners. Structure is important: fixed meal times and a morning circle in which the theme is discussed help children get used to the school routine. Our location works according to the Pedagogisch Hart of Kind & Co Ludens. This means we do everything we can to make children feel safe and secure, so that they can grow and discover. We offer a rich, inspiring environment and believe cooperation is important: our childcare is a mini-society in which we care for each other.
