Peutergroep Boemerang

Welcome to Peutergroep Boemerang, part of Kinderopvang Walcheren (KOW). We are located at Westmede 71 in Middelburg, in the same building as primary school De Boemerang and the kindergarten groups. This makes our toddler group a familiar place where children aged 2 to 4 quickly feel at home and already get used to the school environment. Our toddler group is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We work with a maximum of 16 children per day in a calm, well-organised group. The pedagogical staff follow a fixed daily routine: we start together in a circle, sing songs, tell stories and then make time for crafts, building, role-play and games that fit the weekly theme. Outdoor play takes place on the playground we share with the kindergarten children, so the children already get to know the same play equipment and green corners. KOW uses the development-oriented methods Uk & Puk and Bas in our toddler group. These programmes stimulate language development, motor skills and social skills in a playful way. As a location with pre-school education (VE), we pay extra attention to the Dutch language: speaking, listening and learning new words. We observe each child individually and tailor activities to what they need to confidently take the step to group 1. Parents can follow their child’s experiences and view photos through our childcare app. Personal contact is just as important to us: we schedule parent meetings in the evenings and are always available for questions in between. Together we ensure that your toddler feels safe, valued and challenged at Peutergroep Boemerang.
