Peutergroep Aloysius

Peutergroep Aloysius is located at Spieringstraat 18 in the centre of Gouda and is part of KMN Kind & Co. We offer small-scale toddler care for a maximum of 14 children aged 2 to 4. Play-based learning is at the heart of everything we do: children explore the world at their own pace and practise new skills through play. We use the Uk & Puk method. This programme stimulates broad development in language, social-emotional skills, motor skills and early numeracy. Each period we choose a current theme that is woven into stories, songs, games and creative activities. The themes are aligned as closely as possible with the topics covered by the kindergarten class in the adjacent primary school, ensuring a smooth transition later on. Our day follows a clear structure. We start with a joint circle time where we discuss the theme of the period. This is followed by free play, during which our pedagogical staff closely monitor and stimulate each child’s development. We share meals and drinks together and make time for rest or a short story. We regularly organise outings, such as a visit to the library or a small performance, often together with the kindergarten children of the neighbouring St. Aloysius primary school. Thanks to this collaboration, our toddlers already get to know the school. They become familiar with the safe atmosphere, the faces and the routines. This helps them grow confidently towards the kindergarten class. Parents appreciate our homely, safe place in the heart of the city and the personal contact with our permanent team.
