Peutercombi voorschool Koko en Borre is located on the ground floor of primary school Oscar Carré at Eerste Jan van der Heijdenstraat 161 in the heart of Amsterdam-Zuid. We provide pre-school care with a clear pedagogical goal: preparing toddlers aged 2 to 4 for primary school through play. The group consists of a maximum of 15 children who are welcome every weekday from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM, 52 weeks a year. Our certified pedagogical staff offer loving attention and care. They create a warm, homely atmosphere in which every child feels safe to play, discover and grow. We work with attractive activities and educational themes that connect with the world of experience of toddlers. Think of creative craft projects, reading moments and language games that stimulate vocabulary. Everything is aimed at offering 'adventure on a custom scale': challenging enough to learn new things, safe enough to develop self-confidence. Due to the small scale, we can really give attention to each child. We observe, follow and stimulate development in a way that suits the pace and interests of the toddler. The collaboration with primary school Oscar Carré makes the transition to primary school extra smooth; the children are already familiar with the school building. At Koko and Borre we believe it is important that children enjoy learning. We therefore offer a rich learning environment with corners for role play, building, reading and movement. We also regularly work around current themes that arouse curiosity. Fruit and drinks are included, so parents don't have to worry about extra preparations.
