BSO Flexx

BSO Flexx is a cosy and welcoming after-school care centre located inside primary school De Klimophoeve at Hoefweg 49 in Bleiswijk. We use the spacious school hall and modern gym. The hall is warmly decorated with a forest theme and includes a reading corner, a modern kitchen for preparing food and drinks, and for hosting regular cooking workshops. Tables and stools are spread throughout the space so we can offer play activities in several spots. After school we set up play corners such as a construction zone and provide an open cupboard full of games. A large creative craft cupboard offers a wide range of materials for artistic projects. In the gym and on the challenging school playground we organise active and sports activities. The playground has different zones for energetic and quiet play: climbing, cycling, scootering or kicking a ball. We work closely with BSO Flexx Dependance at number 53. Although officially two separate locations, in practice we operate as one large after-school care centre. We share the outdoor space and children are free to use both group rooms. Our pedagogical staff know all the children and work across both sites, always safeguarding every child’s emotional safety. We pick the children up from school and start with a shared eating and drinking moment in the base group. Afterwards children can choose organised activities, free play or use the various play corners. We regularly go out: playing in the water playground on Gruttostraat, football on the local pitch, shopping in the village, visiting residents at care home De Tuinen, petting animals at petting farm Het Ezelsbruggetje or a scavenger hunt in the woods along the Rottermeren. All destinations are within 1.5 km and we walk safely in BSO vests, two by two. Parents are also welcome: we organise two parent-child activities each year and, when needed, parent evenings with first-aid training. We value parents’ input and regularly consult them on matters such as our pedagogical policy, safety and food.
