Ot & Sien Kleinschalige Kinderopvang

Ot & Sien Kleinschalige Kinderopvang is located in the basement of a historic Vlaardingen mansion at Oosthavenkade 72. Since 2002 we have welcomed babies and toddlers from 0 to 4 years in a fairytale, homely atmosphere. The space is arranged as one large, cosy living-room that accommodates up to 20 children at a time. We work with vertical groups: children of different ages share the day just like siblings at home. Younger ones learn from the older, older ones practise caring for the younger, creating a natural and secure learning environment where every child quickly feels at home. All our staff are fully qualified and each child has a dedicated mentor. The mentor tracks development through the Pravoo child-monitoring system, is the main contact for parents and ensures each child’s home rhythm is followed as closely as possible. For babies this means feeding, sleeping and nappy changes follow their individual schedule until they gently adapt to the group rhythm. A separate sleep room with cots and beds is available, and we use our spacious outdoor playground daily – cycling, sand play, village walks or simply running and climbing. Structure and freedom alternate throughout our day. We begin with a shared welcome moment, after which children can choose between creative corners, building, puzzles, singing, dancing or story time. Healthy food is provided: fresh fruit, drinks and a nutritious bread meal. For the youngest we also prepare bottle feeds and first solids, always aligned with parents’ wishes. Everything revolves around joy, development and unforgettable memories in an environment that truly feels like a second home.
