Ot en Sien

Welcome to Peuterspeelzaal Ot en Sien, located at Broekplein 3 in the friendly Merenwijk district of Leiden. We are part of Stichting Peuterspeelzalen Leiden e.o. (SPL) and provide a safe, small-scale environment where toddlers aged 2 to 4 can prepare for primary school through play. Our brand-new premises sit right between primary schools De Tweemaster and Kwintijn. This central location makes the later transition to kindergarten extra smooth: your child already gets to know the playground and gym while having fun. We work with themes; each period focuses on a topic that matches toddlers’ world of experience. By crafting, singing, building and role play, children develop language, motor skills and social abilities. Inside we offer a rich variety of play materials that invite discovery. Outdoors we may use the school’s movement room, where toddlers can climb, scramble and burn off energy. Our own secluded playground lies safely behind the building and offers plenty of space for sand, water and imaginative play. Peuterspeelzaal Ot en Sien implements early childhood education (VVE). This means we provide targeted activities that stimulate language development and independence. Our experienced pedagogical staff—Jose, Tamar and team leader Yolanda—follow every toddler closely and tailor the programme to each child’s pace and interests. We are open four mornings a week from 08:30 to 12:30. During the morning the children receive a healthy snack and a drink.
