Welcome to Nummereen Childcare Toddler Programme Westerhoven, located within primary school De Ster at Dorpstraat 15 in the centre of Westerhoven. Our toddler programme is specially designed for children aged 2 to 4 and offers a familiar, safe environment where toddlers learn and grow through play. Guided by the motto ‘play is learning’, we stimulate your toddler’s development with activities that match their curiosity and world of experience. Our pedagogical staff are trained in early childhood education (VVE) and guide the children with great care and attention. Daily activities focus on language development, motor skills and social abilities. Reading aloud is part of every day: together on the sofa or in a circle, where children learn to listen, concentrate and expand their vocabulary. We use themed corners where children can explore, play and let their imagination run free. There is plenty of room for movement, both indoors and outdoors, with various materials that invite active play. The play area borders directly on the kindergarten group of the primary school, creating a natural transition and keeping the step to primary school at age four small. The toddler programme consists of two sessions per week (8.30 am – 12.30 pm) and follows the school calendar of 40 weeks per year. The group has a maximum of 16 children, allowing us to give lots of personal attention. We believe it is important that every child feels seen and valued, and that parents can bring their child to us with peace of mind.
