Norlandia kinderopvang, locatie De Wijboom

Welcome to BSO De Wijboom, part of Norlandia childcare, located in Kindcentrum Sterrenboom at Hengmeng 92 in ’s-Hertogenbosch. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in a familiar and safe environment, where fun, relaxation and development are central. Our after-school care works with three horizontal core groups: the KinderKubus (4 to ±7 years), the KinderKeet (7 to ±9.5 years) and the Teen care (from ±9.5 years). Each group has its own space with fixed pedagogical staff who provide a familiar base. Children start the afternoon in their core group and can then freely use all spaces and activities. We operate an open-door policy, where children choose where and with whom they play. Our range of activities is broad and varied. We work thematically and offer workshops such as film making, football, painting, theatre, comic drawing, sports and cooking. There is also room for free play, both indoors and outdoors. We use the school playgrounds around the child centre and the 'yellow square' opposite the school. During holidays there is an extensive holiday programme with extra outings and activities. We believe it is important that children make their own choices and have a say in the programme. They are allowed to suggest ideas for activities and have a say in the layout of the spaces. Our pedagogical staff guide them and ensure a safe, homely atmosphere in which children feel at home. BSO De Wijboom is open on weekdays from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm. We pick up children from various primary schools in the area and provide pre-school care from 7.30 to 8.15 am. We work closely with parents and keep communication short. During pick-up and drop-off, there is always time for a chat or handover. There is also a parent committee that helps think about policy.
