Natureluur BSO De Koeberg Baarlo

Natureluur BSO De Koeberg Baarlo is located in the cosy log cabin of Jong Nederland, quietly situated on the edge of the village of Baarlo. We provide after-school care for up to 44 primary-school children aged 4 to 12, divided into two base groups of maximum 22 children each. Our location offers a spacious indoor area and generous outdoor grounds, giving children plenty of room to play, explore and relax. At Natureluur, nature experience is central. Most of our activities take place outdoors. Throughout the year children head out into the surrounding nature: they explore the forest, work in our own vegetable garden and help care for the animals in the adjacent paddock with horses, chickens and sheep. Inspired by Scandinavian Forest Schools, we collect pine cones, twigs, chestnuts and soil for creative projects – from mosaics to decorating nativity scenes. Our pedagogical staff are selected for their affinity with nature and their ‘green fingers’. They guide children in discovering the environment through play, encouraging initiative and collaboration across ages. We believe it is important for children to build self-confidence, learn to cooperate and discover how to interact with nature. Healthy eating is also a priority: we serve organic, seasonal fruit and children can tap unlimited water themselves. We work with a clear pedagogical policy, set out in our Pedagogical Work Plan 2025-2028. Parents are actively involved through our parent committee.
