De Bonte Berg

De Bonte Berg is our after-school care centre in Herten. We are located on the ground floor of Hubertus primary school at Louis Beelstraat 12, right next to the classrooms. This means that when the last school bell rings, children can simply walk down the corridor and step straight into our group. We have room for up to 44 children and are open after school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 18:30. In the mornings we also offer before-school care from 07:30 to 08:30. We believe children learn most by exploring and experimenting themselves. Therefore we provide space to be active, use imagination and play together. We follow the same pedagogical vision as the rest of Kinderopvang Roermond: children are given trust and freedom so they feel safe to grow. Activities are tailored to what the children themselves indicate: one day it might be a large building project, the next we head out to the playground or cook something tasty in the kitchen. Because we are literally inside the school building, cooperation with Hubertus is seamless. We know the teachers, we know the children, and we can connect well with what happens at school. There is no care at this location on Wednesday and Friday; on those days we refer families to De Stappers, another BSO of our organisation in Herten. This way care always stays close and familiar. In short, De Bonte Berg is the place where school and after-school care flow seamlessly together. We provide a warm, safe environment where children can be themselves and where parents can rest assured their child is in good hands.
