Montessorihuis

Montessorihuis After-School Care is located right in the centre of Arnhem at Beekstraat 41. We provide out-of-school care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. Our homely premises are arranged according to the Montessori philosophy: a prepared environment in which children make their own choices, work independently and learn from their own motivation. After school we welcome the children into a calming space with a separate relaxation/lounge corner. The group room is equipped with Montessori materials and challenging activities that match the different developmental levels. We work with a vertical group: children of different ages sit together, so they learn from and with each other. Our activities are carefully selected. Indoors we create theatre and drama pieces, do crafts, make music and practise presentations. Outdoors we build huts, play games and sometimes even make a film. In addition, we regularly organise cultural trips to museums, the library and other cultural venues in Arnhem. In this way we broaden the child’s world and stimulate curiosity. Our pedagogical staff provide loving and professional guidance. Every child is given the space to get to know themselves and to be themselves. We respect each child’s own pace, aptitude and interests. This makes Montessorihuis a safe, familiar place that children are happy to come to.
