Welcome to Monkey Moves BSO Koningsweg, a small-scale after-school care centre in the heart of Utrecht that offers a place for up to 19 children to romp, unwind and, above all, enjoy healthy movement in nature. Located at Koningsweg 310, our door to the outdoors is always open and getting dirty while taking play-risks is the rule rather than the exception. Our vision is simple yet powerful: the joy of movement is the foundation for every child’s overall development. After a busy day at school we provide a safe and stimulating environment where children decide for themselves where, when and how they play. We call this ‘ravotten’: free movement, making your own choices and taking your own risks. Equally important is rest. After the many impressions of the school day, children need space to withdraw, process everything and simply be themselves again. Structure and regularity form our basis. By offering clear frameworks we create calm, and calm is the foundation for growth and development. Our qualified pedagogical staff provide warm guidance and encourage children to discover new motor skills through versatile sports and play activities in nature. We make optimal use of the environment: we spend a lot of time outdoors, use green play areas and let children get acquainted with different sports in a playful way. Healthy nutrition is an integral part of our programme. We serve organic and natural products—real food that provides the right fuel to recover, grow and develop further. Allergies and special dietary needs are taken seriously; if necessary we ask parents to provide suitable food themselves. Parents communicate via the secure Konnect parent app: fast, clear and safe. You register your child in and out, read news and give permissions. Transport from school to the BSO is arranged only when a transport agreement exists with the relevant school; otherwise parents organise transport themselves. Holiday care is available on the basis of 52- or 48-week packages and study days can be requested as incidental care.
