Monkey Donky Speelhuis Oosterhamrikade is located in the characteristic former Noorderbad at Oosterhamrikkade 66a in Groningen. As the very first location of Monkey Donky Speelhuis, this site carries more than 25 years of history. What once started as a large indoor playground has grown into a trusted after-school care centre where children aged 4 to 12 feel completely at home. The unique indoor location offers plenty of space to play, move and discover. Children can dive into the ball pit, romp in the covered playground or go outside to the secure, enclosed courtyard where they can cycle, run and play in the sand. The groups are organised horizontally: children aged 4 to 7 are together and children aged 8 to 12 form their own group. When numbers are smaller, all children play in the same space, with each child free to choose what they need after a long school day. Our pedagogical staff are ready every day with a smile and a listening ear. Brandon, trained in Sport & Movement, organises sporting activities and guides the children in play and movement. Petra runs creative workshops where children work with unexpected materials – we call it Crafting 2.0. In this way we stimulate creativity and let children come up with their own solutions. Every day we serve a fresh hot meal, from couscous to stamppot, so that parents can pick up their child with peace of mind. With the Monkey Donky App, parents stay informed about the day care.
