MKC de Schatkaart

MKC de Schatkaart is a Montessori Child Centre for education, upbringing and childcare located on Centrumeiland in Amsterdam. Our child centre provides a continuous developmental line for children aged 0-12, with our after-school care (BSO) specifically designed for children aged 4 to 12. We operate as one team with the child at the centre, and working with nature is an important principle in our daily practice. Our BSO offers children a second home. We create an organized, rich and orderly environment where children can freely choose, meet and move. The spaces are carefully arranged according to Montessori principles, with materials displayed at child height and children having independent access to activities that match their interests and developmental level. Our pedagogical staff act as coaches, inspirators and guides when needed, always connecting with each child's individual needs. The new building on Centrumeiland is specially designed to optimize the connection between indoors and outdoors. With a playful split-level design, large windows, a central atrium with an indoor tree, rooftop terrace and balconies at each classroom, we offer children ample opportunities to play and learn outdoors as well. Nature is strongly integrated into our daily activities, where children learn to take responsibility for their environment and their own development. We prepare children for a rapidly changing world by teaching them to think independently, collaborate and take responsibility for their actions. Our BSO is registered in the National Childcare Register under number 647548847 and accommodates up to 64 children.
