KDV 't Boemeltje

Welcome to KDV ’t Boemeltje in Born! We are a day-care centre run by the MIK & Spelenderwijs Kindontwikkeling foundation and welcome up to 40 children from 0 to 4 years old. Our home is located at Jan van Salmstraat 5, right next to primary school De Wissel and after-school care Ratjetoe, making the move to primary school later on feel small and familiar. Every day is an adventure at our centre. Toddlers explore the world in our construction corner, get creative in the atelier and race around our large garden with sandpit, bikes and a play hut. Babies have their own calm room with soft materials and a sheltered garden where they can safely discover new things. We work with three horizontal groups: a baby group (0-2.5 years), a toddler group (2-4 years) and a mixed-age group (0-4 years). This way every child finds a place that perfectly matches age and development. Language and reading are key: we read aloud every day and sing songs together. In addition, we stimulate multilingual development through the bilingual project “Zjuulke”, letting toddlers playfully discover both Dutch and the Limburg dialect. Our pedagogical staff specialise in the very youngest children and provide a warm, safe environment. We spend a lot of time outdoors. Playing, moving and even napping all happen in the fresh air. We have special outdoor cribs and warm sleeping bags so babies and toddlers can rest safely and comfortably outside. KDV ’t Boemeltje also offers Early Childhood Education (ECE), supporting every child’s development optimally. Feel free to drop by for a tour and experience our homely atmosphere yourself!
