Meerlnest Voorweg

Welcome to ’t Meerlnest, our small-scale toddler care centre at Voorweg 49 in the heart of Heemstede. For more than fifty years – founded by parents and still parent-run – we have offered children aged 2 to 4 a safe place of their own where they can play, discover and grow. Every morning from 8.10 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. we open our doors in a beautiful, spacious building less than a hundred metres from several primary schools. Everything we do revolves around learning through play. We offer a rich, varied programme that matches exactly what toddlers enjoy and need: dance and movement, arts and crafts, circle time and, of course, plenty of free play. In this way we stimulate language, motor skills, creativity and social skills in a manner that suits their world of experience. Because we only receive toddlers, we can focus all our attention on this age group; there are no babies or school-age children to distract us. Parents are always welcome. Pop in at drop-off, share a cup of coffee or tea, ask a question, or simply say a quick goodbye – anything goes. We regularly host walk-in consultations with specialists such as a speech therapist and actively help with practical matters like scheduling childcare. Parents can also stay involved through the board, the parent committee or as a garden or handyman parent. The parental involvement that once founded us is still very much alive today. Our centre is accessible to all families. If you are not entitled to childcare allowance, we will gladly inform you about a reduced rate so that everyone can use our services.
