Max Havelaar Kindcentrum

Welcome to the daycare centre of Max Havelaar Kindcentrum, located at Verwersdijk 21 in the historic centre of Delft. Our daycare offers places for up to 40 children aged 0 to 4 years. We work from one pedagogical policy together with Max Havelaar primary school and Kinderopvang Morgen, ensuring a seamless transition between childcare, education and free time. Our baby and toddler groups are on the ground floor and have their own enclosed natural garden. The spacious, bright rooms are furnished with quiet corners for sleeping, soft materials and safe play areas. We follow your child’s rhythm: cribs and beds are ready, bottles are warmed to the right temperature and there is plenty of room for cuddles and comfort. For the preschool groups there are challenging development corners: a construction corner with large blocks, a reading corner with picture books, a craft table and a discovery corner with natural materials. Our pedagogical staff work with themes around nature, culture and technology. Think of a project ‘Delft waterways’ where toddlers sail boats, or ‘Little technicians’ where they build with large screws and bolts. We offer pre-school education (VVE) following the programme ‘Startblokken’. Through play we work on language, numeracy and social skills. We sing songs, count blocks and practise vocabulary during play. There is also room for expression: we finger-paint, dance to music and make music together with simple instruments. The garden invites outdoor play; there is a sandpit, a water track and a vegetable planter where we sow vegetables together. Every day includes a fixed moment for fresh air and movement, as health and exercise are central to our approach. Parents receive daily messages and photos via our app Social Schools, keeping you informed of naps, meals and discoveries. We offer flexible childcare days and hours: from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., with half-day options available. Together we ensure your child feels safe, secure and challenged at our daycare centre.
