Welcome to Smallsteps After-School Care Marie van Westerhovenstraat, located at number 28 in the heart of Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Our bright, fully renovated building offers children aged 4 to 12 a safe and inspiring place to play, discover and grow after school. We are proud to be part of Smallsteps, a national childcare organisation with over twenty years of experience, known for its small-scale approach, personal attention and space for every child to be themselves. As soon as the school bell rings, our enthusiastic childcare staff are ready to pick up the children with a smile. For safety and recognition, all children wear a reflective vest. We work closely with Pro Rege school, De Louis Bouwmeesterschool and De Ichthusschool (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). This close collaboration ensures a smooth transition from school to after-school care and back. At our location, children choose their own activities. The spacious, light group rooms invite building, crafting, exciting science experiments or simply playing freely. Our natural garden is a true adventure: children can climb, cycle, crawl and explore among the greenery. Nearby sports fields are perfect for football, basketball and other sports activities. No two days are ever the same! Weekly themes and activities change constantly. One week we create art from autumn leaves, the next we search for creepy crawlies in our nature garden or bake delicious vegetable skewers for a park picnic. We also regularly visit the library to borrow books or go on fun local outings. This way, children learn about the world around them through play. At Smallsteps Marie van Westerhovenstraat, we believe every child should feel free to be themselves. We offer a warm, homely atmosphere with room for both calm and excitement. Our experienced staff provide personal attention and guide children in their development. Through our own app, we keep parents updated on all the day's adventures. Every day with us is a celebration!
