Maan

Welcome to BSO Maan, our homely after-school care centre at Oude Liesbosweg 40 in Utrecht. We are part of Stichting Ludens and provide care on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for children aged 5 to 8. On Wednesday and Friday we welcome children from 4 to 13 years old. In total we have room for forty children who can feel both safe and challenged with us. At Maan we believe that children discover who they are by playing and doing. Our pedagogical staff offer a warm home-from-home where there is space for both self-initiated play and guided activities. We craft, play games, go outside, read books, act, dance and make music, cook and bake together, and keep active with sports and games. These activities connect with the children’s world of experience and stimulate their creativity, social skills and self-confidence. Our location is in the Lunetten-noord district, close to primary schools and playgrounds. We collect the children from school and bring them to Maan after school, where a cosy living-room atmosphere awaits them. The spaces are bright and inviting, with corners for rest, play and creative outbursts. We work with fixed groups so that children become familiar with one another and with the pedagogical staff. Parents find open communication and involvement with us. We regularly discuss how the child is doing and tailor our programme to individual needs. Together we ensure that children come to Maan with pleasure and go home feeling fulfilled.
