BSO Koekoek

BSO Koekoek is located in the characteristic, century-old monumental building at Koekoeksplein 1A in Utrecht’s Vogelenbuurt district. We share the premises with Openbare Basisschool De Koekoek, with whom we work closely. Each afternoon we collect the children from their classrooms and bring them to our spacious, bright group rooms. Welcoming up to 120 children in six horizontal age groups, we offer a homely and safe place where every child feels at home. Our pedagogical approach is built on the ‘Pedagogisch Hart’ framework of Kind & Co Ludens. We focus on four core values: ‘Feeling good and having fun’, ‘Growing and discovering’, ‘A rich environment’ and ‘Together’. Through play, children explore new things and learn to cooperate. We provide an inspiring and challenging environment with plenty of room for personal initiative. Our qualified pedagogical staff are ready every day to guide the children in their development. Outdoors we have a beautiful green playground where children can run, play sports and relax. We also regularly organise activities in the neighbourhood and make use of the school’s facilities, such as the playground and gym. During school holidays and study days we remain open, so parents can bring their children to us with peace of mind. In short, BSO Koekoek is a warm, professional after-school care centre where children can play, relax and discover in a familiar environment after school.
