LPS Kinderopvang Gummarus (peuteropvang)

Peuteropvang Gummarus is located at Azaleastraat 18 in Steenbergen and is part of the Lowys Porquin Foundation. We provide care for up to 24 children aged 2 to 4 in two horizontal groups. Our qualified staff create a warm, safe environment where every child can play, discover and grow at their own pace. We use the developmental programme Puk & Ko. Puk is the toddlers’ friend who experiences everyday situations the children recognise; together they help Puk learn first steps in language, numeracy and social skills. We also apply the child-tracking system Kijk! to tailor activities to each child’s needs. A 3½-year-old may already join short ‘practice moments’ with the kindergarten children, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. A typical day starts with singing and puzzles, followed by free play in the garden or classroom, always guided by familiar faces. Fruit and drinks are included; children bring their own bread meal. We collaborate closely with primary school Gummarus: toddlers regularly play on the shared playground and get to know the school environment. Our four pillars – Learning who you are, We do it together, Room to grow, and Healthy & happy – underpin everything we do. Parents are actively involved through the parent committee and receive regular updates on their child’s progress.
