Welcome to De Vuurtoren daycare, the KDV located in the Noordgeest district of Bergen op Zoom. We are part of Lowys Porquin Childcare and share the same building with primary schools De Welle and De Noordster, allowing us to offer a seamless learning and development line from 0 to 4 years. At De Vuurtoren we believe every child is rich and competent. This means your child already possesses all the qualities needed to discover themselves and the world. Our pedagogical staff therefore embark on an adventure every day with the children—and with you as a parent. We share the care and act as your partner in parenting. Your child is at the centre and we actively think along with you about what you need. We work with three horizontal age groups: a baby group (0–1.5 years), a toddler group (1.5–2.5 years) and a pre-school group (2.5–4 years). Each group has its own safe and familiar space tailored to the developmental needs of that age. The transition to the next group is done in close consultation with you and when your child is ready. Pre-school education (VE) is standard with us. We use the Pyramid method to stimulate your child’s development through play. Toddlers are occasionally allowed to visit the kindergarten classes, we organise joint activities and play outside together. This makes the step to Year 1 a lot less daunting. Our location accommodates up to 62 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 21 March 2014 under number 141712934, so you can apply for childcare allowance. We are supervised by the GGD West-Brabant and work according to the four pillars of LPS Childcare: Learning who you are, We do it together, Room to grow and Healthy & happy.
