Welcome to Little Jungle Mamma Zebra, our homely after-school care centre located at Oldengaarde 1B in Gestel, Eindhoven. We are part of the small-scale, professional childcare organisation Little Jungle, which has been providing committed childcare since 2002 across five locations in Eindhoven. At Mamma Zebra we welcome up to 55 school-age children aged 4 to 13 every weekday, offering them a familiar place to unwind, play and discover after school. Our pedagogical staff are ready every weekday from 07:00 to 19:00. We collect children from various primary schools in the immediate area and give them a trusted environment where they can choose their own activities. We believe that play is learning. Therefore we offer a wide range of activities: from creative craft projects and board games to sporty challenges and language-oriented games. We use a special language programme that stimulates the Dutch language in a playful way. For children who do not yet speak Dutch fluently, this is a nice support. We find it important that children feel safe and at home. Our location is small-scale and clear, allowing for lots of personal attention. There is space to chill out after a long school day, but also to be active. We regularly organise themed activities and work with the children on social skills such as cooperation, sharing and respect for each other. Parents receive a detailed handover every day and are regularly sent fun photos, so they can share in their child’s experiences. At Mamma Zebra, children can also join us for a warm, healthy meal. We believe that eating together is important and serve responsible dishes. Our location is easily accessible and situated in a quiet residential area. We work with mixed age groups, where younger and older children learn from each other. Our staff speak both Dutch and English, so international families also feel welcome.
