Kuikennest

Welcome to Kuikennest, our small-scale daycare facility located at Sint Angelastraat 11 in Heerlen. We are part of Stichting Peuteropvang Heerlen and provide care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our setting is situated on the grounds of primary school Eikenderveld, ensuring a smooth transition to elementary school later on. At Kuikennest we follow the principle of ‘learning through play together’. We offer a safe, familiar environment in which toddlers develop language, numeracy, social and motor skills through play. Our activities are designed to prepare children for primary school in a playful way. We use a recognised pre-school education programme (VE) that stimulates language development and builds every child’s confidence. Our opening hours are flexible: Monday to Thursday we offer both a morning group (8.15 – 11.45 am) and an afternoon group (12.30 – 3.00 pm). On Friday only a morning group is available (8.15 am – 12.15 pm). This allows parents to choose half-day or full-day care that best suits their needs. We work with small, same-age groups so that every child receives the attention they deserve. Our qualified staff are trained to observe and stimulate toddler development. We believe it is important that children have fun, feel safe and learn step by step.
