Krauwelnest

Welcome to ’t Krauwelnest, our small-scale toddler care facility located at Maria-Gewandenstraat 24 in Hoensbroek. We are part of Stichting Peuteropvang Heerlen and provide professional care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our mission is to let children discover, develop and grow through play in a safe and familiar environment. Our certified pedagogical staff work according to a clear vision of the young child. We offer a structured program with play-based learning at its core. The activities are tailored to the developmental stage of toddlers and stimulate language development, social skills and independence. We work with themes that connect to children's experiences and use various materials and play areas for this purpose. ’t Krauwelnest is officially registered as a pre-school education (VE) location. This means we work with a recognized program that stimulates children's development and prepares them for primary school. Our activities focus on language, mathematics, motor skills and social-emotional development. We carefully observe the children and adapt our approach to individual needs. We are open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:15 to 11:45 AM. Children are cared for in a horizontal group, meaning they are together with peers of the same age. This promotes social interaction and allows our pedagogical staff to specifically respond to the developmental stage of this age group. During the morning, children have the opportunity for free play, but we also participate in joint activities such as singing, reading aloud and crafting. Our location is situated on the grounds of primary school De Vlieger, with which we have close cooperation. This offers advantages during the transition to primary school, as children are already familiar with the environment. We believe it is important that parents are involved in their child's development and regularly hold parent meetings. Together we ensure that each child can develop optimally in a safe and stimulating environment.
