Korein Meerbos

Welcome to Korein Meerbos, our small-scale daycare centre located in the green Meerhoven district. We provide care for a maximum of fourteen children aged 0 to 4, which allows us to give every child genuine personal attention. Our branch is housed in Spil-centrum Meerrijk, the same building as primary school De Startbaan, ensuring a smooth transition from daycare to school later on. We follow the Early Childhood Education programme (VVE). This means we offer targeted activities that match your child’s stage of development. Language and speech are central: we read aloud, sing songs and use picture stories. In a playful way the children practise vocabulary and communication, exactly as prescribed by the Ministry of Education. Because many families in Meerhoven are international, we regularly hear English, Spanish or Chinese words. We believe every child should feel welcome, so we also use words from other languages in our daily conversations. The groups are arranged horizontally: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are separated so we can tailor activities precisely to their age and pace. The youngest children rest in quiet bedrooms, toddlers crawl and climb in the soft corner and pre-schoolers explore the creative studio. Outside we have a safe, green playground that we use every day. We do not organise fixed out-of-school excursions, but we often take a walk through the nearby park or visit the library in De Hangar. Our team consists of experienced pedagogical professionals who understand how important a familiar environment is.
