Welcome to Kikkerkroost, our small-scale daycare centre located at Boeninlaan 286 in Amsterdam Zuidoost. We provide loving care for up to 33 children aged 0–4 years. Our focus is on independence and language development: “teach me to do it myself” is our guiding principle. Every child is known by name to our qualified pedagogical staff, and the children know each member in return. This close bond gives babies and toddlers the security they need to explore the world confidently. We organise children in horizontal groups, so activities and care match each developmental stage precisely. The day runs from 7.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. In the morning, children who wish receive freshly topped bread – they choose and spread the toppings themselves. Healthy snacks such as yoghurt or fresh fruit are offered throughout the day. At lunchtime we serve a warm, nutritious meal packed with hidden vegetables. Halal or vegetarian options are available on request; simply let us know during the intake. Our specialities are movement and digitalisation. Indoors, children can climb the climbing wall, build in themed playhouses, or get creative with painting and crafts. Outdoors, a secure garden with play equipment invites them to run, slide and tumble to their hearts’ content. Songs, stories and constant conversation stimulate language development all day long. Everything is included: nappies, baby formula/bottle feeding, warm lunch, snacks and care products. Parents do not need to bring anything extra. We also work with the Dutch childcare allowance, significantly reducing the actual cost for families.
