Koekepeer

Located on the edge of Middelburg’s Dauwendaele district, Koekepeer day-care centre welcomes babies and toddlers in a warm, purpose-built setting. The centre is divided into two calm, age-specific rooms so every child can develop at his or her own pace. We operate two horizontal core groups: Group 1 for children aged 0 to ± 2 years (max. 12 children, 3 staff) and Group 2 for children aged 2 to ± 4 years (max. 16 children, 2 staff). Each group has its own stable team of professional pedagogical staff who really know your child and understand his or her needs. Rooms are softly decorated with familiar play corners, natural materials and gentle colours to create a real home-from-home feeling. At Koekepeer we encourage children to “do it themselves”: we give them time and space to make choices, discover new skills and build self-confidence while providing the secure base every child needs. We observe and respond to each child’s signals so we can meet individual needs precisely. Language development is stimulated through daily reading, singing and conversation; creative development through free play with paint, clay and natural materials. Outdoor play is part of the daily routine in our own garden and the nearby Meiveld park. Parents receive daily updates and photos through our parent portal. Our tag system lets you enter quietly with your personal ‘drop’—no doorbell, no extra stimuli for the children. For the youngest we provide formula, nappies and care products; for toddlers we serve healthy meals, fruit and drinks. Special diets and allergies are catered for on request. Koekepeer is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Walcheren. When your child turns two we guide the gentle transition to our toddler group on the same site, ensuring continuity in a familiar environment.
