Knus Thuys

Welcome to Knus Thuys at Wilhelminastraat 193 H in Amsterdam-West, a warm and secure home away from home for children aged 0 to 4. Our daycare centre provides care for up to 14 children per day, focusing on safety, cosiness and professional childcare. Our location is ideally situated just behind the Overtoom, only 50 metres from Cremerplein with its large playground and 200 metres from Vondelpark. We use our wagon to take the children outside for at least an hour every day, except during extreme weather conditions. Indoors, everything is designed according to the highest safety and comfort standards. This includes child-safe sockets, fire-retardant measures, underfloor heating, a cuddle wall and a ventilation system that removes polluted air. For our youngest children, we have a baby lounge with a large playpen and a sensor mat in the bed that alerts us if a baby stops breathing. Our living space features a conservatory and French doors opening onto our enclosed nature experience garden facing south, with separate play areas for babies. We work with qualified childcare professionals, led by an HBO-educated location manager who is also present on the group and can consult with a pedagogue for advice. Older children enjoy a warm, organic meal daily. We offer language-stimulating activities, nature activities, music and yoga, always tailored to the child's age and development. A special feature of our location is that children can also sleep outdoors in our sleeping cabins. These are safely positioned close to the door, allowing us to keep a close eye on the children at all times. Parents report that children sleep longer and more deeply here.
