KluppluZ Faunuslaan

KluppluZ Faunuslaan provides after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 with additional support needs. We are located inside the Petraschool, a special primary school in Eindhoven. The collaboration with the school is excellent; communication between teachers and our pedagogical staff is seamless. Children can be themselves in a safe and structured environment. We follow the children’s initiatives so they can express their needs and ideas. Together we discuss what is possible. All activities are accessible to every child, and we create creative solutions so everyone can participate. We build on each child’s strengths and encourage them—with our support—to come up with their own solutions. A planning board with pictograms lets children choose what they want to do each day. Every child has their own photo on the board. Planning their own day gives them a sense of control and helps develop independence. Changing activities is always possible by agreement; if a child finds choosing difficult, we are there to help. Our location offers several spaces: a chill room where children can relax, play Nintendo Wii, or enjoy quiet play. We also have access to the large school kitchen and technology classroom. The outdoor playground allows for cycling, scootering, climbing, running, and sand play. During school holidays we use the gym for games, building huts, or simply moving around when the weather is poor. Our group has a maximum of 12 children aged 4 to 13. Children come from various schools, including the Petraschool with which we share the building. Others are collected by taxi bus. We operate a vertical group where children of different ages play together and help one another. During holidays and study days, children are welcome from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
