Welcome to Partou ’t Kloosterke! Our daycare centre is located in a unique building: a former convent at Kloosterstraat 3 in the Geitenkamp district of Arnhem. The beautiful stained-glass windows and high ceilings give every group room a warm, homely atmosphere. From the building we look out over the sports fields and St Joseph’s Church; a quiet, green environment that invites play and discovery. Behind the convent lies our spacious patio garden – a safe, green playground where children can run, cycle, bake sand pies or simply enjoy the fresh air. In the covered cloister we regularly build a climbing and clambering course, so that plenty of movement is possible even in less weather. We believe being outdoors is so important that we offer children the opportunity to sleep in outdoor cribs; a moment of rest in nature with the sound of birds and rustling leaves. Our pedagogical staff work in horizontal groups: babies (0-2 years) and toddlers (2-4 years) are separate, so that we can perfectly tailor activities, rest moments and care to each child’s developmental stage. We provide a daily warm, healthy lunch and give snacks according to our nutrition policy, taking allergies and dietary requirements into account. Nappy changes, bottle feeding and applying a caring cream are of course part of our standard care; nappies and wipes are included in the price. During the day we make plenty of time for reading aloud – we receive new picture books from the local library every month – and for creative activities such as crafts and cooking. We believe that children are curious from an early age and that we can stimulate their natural drive to learn by letting them experience: picking flowers in the garden, cutting soup together for lunch or completing a self-made course. Everything takes place in small groups, so that every child receives the attention they deserve. Parents stay informed via our Partou app: photos, sleep and meal times, but also first steps or words are shared safely. We enjoy working with parents to look at their child’s development; a short handover at pick-up and drop-off or a quiet moment for a deeper conversation is always possible.
