Welcome to Kleinlab B.V. at Beitelkade 15 in Amsterdam Noord. We are an after-school care facility (BSO) for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12. At Kleinlab we see every child as a young researcher, rich in possibilities and talents. Our motto is: creative childcare for the young explorer. We provide a safe, homely environment where children can relax after school and still be challenged. Our pedagogical approach is child-centred: we recognise what each individual child needs and offer the right materials and spaces accordingly. We do not use themes, examples or assignments; instead we encourage children to make their own discoveries and develop their creativity. Children have access to three large studios, a children’s kitchen and a natural playground. They can make music, experiment with visual arts, cook and bake, and explore how nature works. We use organic, vegetarian food and eco-friendly care products. A warm meal and healthy snacks are included. Our team consists of highly qualified pedagogical staff with a strong affinity for art and culture. They receive regular training from our pedagogue. By placing extra staff on the groups we can give each child even more personal attention. We believe it is important that children feel at home, can develop their individuality and learn to live together in a close community.
