Klein Alkmaar Houtweg

Welcome to Klein Alkmaar Houtweg, our daycare centre in the Nassaukwartier on the edge of the Westerhout woods. At Houtweg 29 we provide day care for up to 64 children aged 0 to 4 years. The location has recently been expanded and is so green that many children think we are right in the middle of a forest. The large, green outdoor area – surrounded by the trees of the Westerhout – is the beating heart of our centre. Here children can run, climb, explore and burn off energy to their heart’s content. For the very youngest we have a separate, sheltered outdoor space with a sun-shade sail, so that they too can play safely and become completely absorbed in their own world. Inside we work in warm, homely groups where every child is given the space to develop at his or her own pace. Our pedagogical staff are ready with attention, respect and trust. We believe it is important that children feel safe and come to the centre with pleasure. Every day we see children going home with a smile on their face, and that makes our work worthwhile.
