Welcome to Kinderwoud Us Kubus, the daycare centre in the Nijehaske district of Heerenveen. Located at Barten 11, our site forms an Integrated Child Centre (IKC) together with primary school De Optimist: one familiar place where children aged 0–4 play, discover and grow. Creativity and adventure are at the heart of everything we do. Every day your child sets off on a voyage of discovery in a safe, stimulating environment. We follow Kinderwoud’s four pillars: learning through play, movement, music and healthy nutrition—scientifically proven to boost brain development. In practice this means singing, dancing, building, cooking and outdoor romping within an ever-changing themed programme. Examples include archaeology workshops for “Then & Now”, creative art during “Art Tingles” or healthy cooking during “Pack Your Backpack”. Our daycare is designed for children from 0 to 4 years. Horizontal groups ensure babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers play with age-matched toys and activities. For the youngest we provide bottle feeding at set rest times, fresh fruit and snacks, and a dedicated sleep room where every child naps in a familiar cot. A predictable daily rhythm offers security while still meeting individual needs. Pre-schoolers receive extra stimulation through our Early Childhood Education programme (VE), enhancing language, numeracy and social skills and smoothing the transition to primary school. Parents can choose full or half-day care, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00. Our spacious green playground invites climbing, sand-pit adventures and nature exploration.
