Kinderwoud Sint Jozef

Welcome to the after-school care (BSO) of Kinderwoud Sint Jozef, located at van Dekemalaan 2 in Heerenveen. We provide out-of-school care for children aged 4 to 13. We also offer before-school care (VSO), giving children a calm start before the school day begins. Our site is part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) Sint Jozef, which means we work closely with Sint Jozef primary school. This partnership ensures a smooth transition between school and childcare and offers children a familiar, safe environment. Our BSO group has room for 25 children. The spaces are bright, spacious and inviting, with plenty of options for playing, relaxing or doing homework. Because we are directly connected to the school, children can simply walk to the BSO after class—easy and familiar. Our pedagogical staff welcome every child with a smile and a listening ear. We believe it is important that every child feels seen and valued. Our programme is designed to give children rest after a busy school day and to stimulate their development. We offer a variety of activities tailored to the children’s interests and needs, such as crafts, games, outdoor play and joint projects. There is also room for relaxation: reading in our book corner or simply doing nothing for a while. For the youngest children we organise VSO: waking up calmly, playing games and then walking to class together. We adapt all activities to each child’s age and development, so everyone feels at home at Kinderwoud Sint Jozef.
