Kinderwoud POV De Bistebus

Welcome to Kinderwoud POV De Bistebus, our daycare centre located at Lauermanstraat 21B in the centre of Burgum. We provide care for up to 32 children aged 0 to 4 in a homely environment that has been carefully designed according to the principle that the space itself acts as the ‘third pedagogue’. This means that colours, light, materials and layout are deliberately chosen so that children immediately feel safe and secure, while also being challenged to explore and play. Our qualified pedagogical staff are ready every day to give your baby, toddler or pre-schooler a warm welcome. We work with horizontal groups, so children are placed with peers of the same age and activities are precisely tailored to their developmental stage. In addition to our spacious indoor areas, we have a large green outdoor area where children can run, play and discover nature to their heart’s content. We believe it is important that children have room to grow and learn both indoors and outdoors. A special feature of our location is that we work bilingually: we speak Dutch and Frisian. In a playful way we stimulate language development and promote multilingualism, which is not only good for language skills but also for social and intellectual development. We work together with SFBO (Sintrum Frysktalige Berne-opfang) for this purpose. If your child has another mother tongue, we can use comforting words in that language so that he or she feels at home even more quickly. For toddlers we offer pre-school education (VE). This programme stimulates the broad development of every child and is also there for toddlers who need extra support or more challenge. If you have a VE indication, your child can attend extra sessions and receive the right guidance. In this way, we prepare toddlers for primary school through play.
