Kinderwoud KDV Scharnegoutum

Welcome to Kinderwoud KDV Scharnegoutum, located at De Terp 2 in the heart of Scharnegoutum. We share the building with primary school CBS Op ’e Hichte, which gives us access to spacious school facilities, the playground and extra learning materials. In this rich environment we welcome children from 0 to 4 years and guide their development through play. Our location has room for up to 42 children and works with horizontal age groups. The groups carry cheerful names such as Pelican, Flamingo and Parrot – creating a lovely tropical vibe, whatever the weather! We start each day with a warm welcome and a clear daily rhythm, so every child feels safe and secure. Our pedagogical staff follow Kinderwoud’s developmental model: age-appropriate activities that match the world of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Think of singing and making music, crafting with different materials, reading aloud in our cosy book corner, and cooking or baking in the children’s kitchen. Movement and outdoor play are important to us. Our own garden and the school playground invite children to run, climb and explore. We also make regular trips in the neighbourhood, for example to the park or the petting zoo. In between, there is room for rest: in our separate sleep rooms children can nap in beds or cribs, with soft music and blackout curtains. For the youngest we provide bottle feeding on request and follow the home rhythm as much as possible. We use diapers and wipes that are available at the daycare. Parents receive a daily message through the Parent App with photos and a short recap. Kinderwoud KDV Scharnegoutum offers pre-school education (VVE) following the Uk & Puk programme. In a playful way, toddlers practise language, numeracy and social skills, so they can start primary school with confidence. We believe it is important that every child can be themselves. Therefore we carefully observe what each child needs and adapt activities and guidance accordingly. Together with parents we create a warm, safe place where children can grow and flourish.
