Kinderwoud KDV Duinterpen

Welcome to Kinderwoud KDV Duinterpen, located in the Brede School Duinterpen at Keizersmantel 1 in the centre of Sneek. Our day-care centre provides care for up to 94 children aged 0 to 4 years. We are part of Kinderwoud, a leading childcare organisation in Friesland that offers more than 6,000 children a safe and stimulating place to play and discover every day. Your child’s development is our central focus. We work from three pillars: learning through play, movement, music and healthy nutrition. These choices are based on scientific research into the positive effects on young children’s brain development. Our qualified pedagogical staff create a warm, colourful environment in which every child feels safe and secure, discovers new things and can play with peers. At Duinterpen we offer pre-school education (VE) in our toddler groups. This programme stimulates the broad development of toddlers and is available for all children in the group, including those who need extra support or more challenge. If your child has a VE indication, they can attend extra sessions and receive tailored support. We work thematically; each theme ties in with current events and is supplemented with workshops or excursions. Think of themes such as ‘Do you feel what I feel?’ where emotions take centre stage, or ‘Backpack yourself silly’ where we travel to different countries. Our activities are always age-appropriate and development-oriented, ensuring all areas of development are covered. We also offer varied activities such as cooking and baking with healthy ingredients, creative craft projects and musical mornings. Our location is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00. For parents who need care outside these hours, extended childcare is often possible. We work closely with OBS de Wyken, CBS de Vuurvlinder and the sports hall, all housed in the Brede School, giving us access to additional facilities and expertise. Together with parents, we ensure that every day becomes a beautiful day for your child. We pay attention to each child’s individuality and provide a familiar environment in which your child can develop optimally.
