Kinderwoud De Opstap

Welcome to Kinderwoud De Opstap, our after-school care location at Heemstrasingel 45 in Oentsjerk. We provide after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13 years in a homely and familiar environment. Our location accommodates up to 44 children and is registered in the National Childcare Register. Every child is at the center of our approach. We work with age groups so children can play with peers their own age. Toddlers have their own base room for security, while older children are given space to spread their wings. Each group has a dedicated mentor who serves as the contact point for both child and parent. Our activities focus on talent development. We offer themed workshops in categories: Discover & Explore, Sports, Fit & Fun, Cooking & Baking, Music, Theater & Art, Nature & Adventure, and Chill & Play. Children choose which activities to participate in, learning to make choices. During school holidays, we have a special holiday program with extra outings such as skating in Thialf, museum visits, or walking the Barefoot Path. We pick up children from school (walking or by bike) and provide healthy food according to our nutrition policy. Fruit, drinks and crackers are included. We take allergies and individual dietary requirements into account. Parents can easily arrange matters such as requesting extra care or scheduling swap days through our parent portal or Parent App. Our pedagogical staff create an environment that is 'as safe as necessary', where children have space to take risks and discover boundaries. We believe it's important that children participate in thinking, deciding and doing when choosing activities and arranging spaces. This way they develop not only their talents but also social skills.
