Kinderwoud De Librije

Welcome to Kinderwoud De Librije, located in Kindcentrum De Librije at Wabbe Wissesstrjitte 15 in the centre of Gorredijk. In a warm, colourful and secure environment we provide daycare for children aged 0 to 4. Our qualified pedagogical staff ensure every child feels safe, discovers new things and enjoys playing with peers. Our work is guided by the core values of Security, Individuality and Self-development. We truly see each child and build on his or her unique talents and needs. Play-based learning, movement, music and healthy nutrition are the pillars of our activity programme. We sing, craft, read aloud, cook and bake with the children and regularly go on outings to nearby natural play areas. At De Librije we also offer Early Childhood Education (ECE). This programme stimulates the broad development of toddlers and is available to all children in the group. If your child has an ECE indication, he or she can attend extra sessions and receive targeted support. We work closely with PCBS De Librije and other partners in the Kindcentrum. We speak both Dutch and Frisian. In a playful way we encourage multilingualism, which benefits language, social and intellectual development. For children with another home language we use ‘comfort language’ – a few words in the familiar language – so they feel extra safe. Our horizontal groups mean children play and develop with peers in a calm, structured setting. We follow fixed daily routines with ample time for naps, meals and discovery. Parents can choose half-day or full-day care between 07:30 and 18:00. Feel free to drop by and experience the atmosphere; you are always welcome!
