Kinderwoud BSO Loevestein

Welcome to Kinderwoud BSO Loevestein, located in the Loevestein Child Centre at Berend Wapstrastrjitte 3 in Gorredijk. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 years. Together with School Loevestein, we form one integrated child centre, ensuring a seamless transition between school and childcare. Our BSO accommodates up to 52 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 29 August 2016. We operate based on our three core values: security, individuality, and self-development. These values form the foundation of our pedagogical approach and ensure that every child feels seen and valued. Our activity programme is diverse and tailored to the developmental stage of school-age children. We offer sports and movement activities, creative workshops such as arts and crafts and cooking, music, and thematic projects. Additionally, we regularly organise excursions to interesting locations in the area. Our pedagogical staff support children with homework and provide quiet moments when needed. We follow Kinderwoud's developmental model, which aligns with the child's world of experience. Our spaces are designed as challenging play-and-learn environments where children can explore, play, and develop. We believe it is important that children are involved in determining activities and the layout of the spaces. Kinderwoud BSO Loevestein is part of Kinderwoud, a large childcare organisation in Friesland with over 80 locations. We work closely with School Loevestein and other schools in the region to ensure that our care optimally aligns with school hours and holidays.
