Kinderwoud BSO De Spil

Welcome to Kinderwoud BSO De Spil, located in the multifunctional centre De Wier at De Skeauwen 16 in the heart of Ureterp. We provide after-school care for all children aged 4 to 13 who attend primary school. Our location is small-scale and homely, allowing children to feel at home quickly. We pick up children from local primary schools and bring them to our location. Transport is done on foot or by bicycle, accompanied by our pedagogical staff. Upon arrival, a healthy treat is always ready: fruit and drinks according to our nutrition policy. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account. Every day we offer a wide and varied range of activities, where children choose what they want to participate in. Our themes vary from 'Discover & Explore' and 'Sports, Fit & Fun' to 'Cooking & Baking', 'Music, Theatre & Art' and 'Nature & Adventure'. There is also plenty of room to chill, play or read a book. We work with age groups, so children can play and develop with peers. During school holidays we organise a holiday programme with two challenging activities per day, such as workshops, museum visits, sports days or walking the 'Barefoot Path'. In the summer holidays we even offer six weeks of a super summer programme with activities such as supping, pole vaulting and water games. We find it important that children think along and co-decide. That is why we involve them in choosing activities, furnishing spaces and purchasing new play materials. This way they learn to deal with choices, take others into account and discover their own talents.
