KinderRijk Peuteropvang Linde

Peuteropvang Linde is designed for children aged 2 to 4 and is located in the Keizer Karelpark district of Amstelveen. We are housed in a multifunctional building that also accommodates primary school De Linde and KinderRijk’s after-school care. We operate two toddler groups, each guided by a stable team of three pedagogical professionals. The groups are horizontally structured so that all children in the same developmental stage play and learn together. We are an officially recognised Early Childhood Education (VVE) site. This means we follow the ‘Pre-school Education’ programme to introduce language, numeracy and social skills through play at an early age. Our themes align with the topics taught at De Linde primary school, ensuring a smooth transition when the children move on to elementary education. Language development is a key focus: we read aloud every day, sing songs and use picture and word cards. Because several children speak a home language other than Dutch, we provide extra language stimulation and make sure every child feels seen and heard. Outside, we have a spacious green playground with our own vegetable garden. Together with the children we sow, tend and harvest vegetables and herbs. In this way they learn where food comes from and experience how plants grow. The natural materials in the garden – such as branches, leaves and seeds – are also used in our craft activities. Indoors there is an atelier corner where children can freely paint, model clay and build with recyclable materials. Structure and safety are central: we work with fixed daily routines and clear agreements so that children can develop in a familiar environment. During the fruit and drink break we teach healthy eating habits and table manners. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account and actively involve the children in setting the table and clearing up afterwards. Parents receive photos and short reports via our parent app so they can share in their child’s experiences at home.
