Peuteropvang Aalberselaan is located in Brede School Rembrandt, just a stone's throw from the Stadshart shopping centre and the public library in Amstelveen. We have put great care into the layout and design of our group spaces. They are inviting and surprising, calm in form and colour, and cosily furnished so that children immediately feel at home. We work with children aged 2 to 4 in two horizontal groups. Each group has a fixed team of pedagogical staff who provide a safe and familiar environment. Our activities are focused on the development of young children and are tailored to their world of experience. We sing, dance, do crafts and read aloud. We also pay a lot of attention to language development and social skills. Outdoor play is an important part of our day. We use the playground of the primary school and the nature garden of the day-care centre. When the weather is less favourable, we play in a gym, where we work on motor development with balls, hoops and mats. We work thematically; each theme is reflected in songs, games, creative activities and circle time. During circle time we regularly offer something special, such as a puppet show or a story with puppets. We believe it is important that parents are involved in their child’s development. Through the Parent App, parents can view photos and reports and communicate directly with the pedagogical staff. We also offer a warm handover at the beginning and end of the day, so parents are always informed about how their child has experienced the day.
